The X-Ray C-Spine – Lateral Flexion & Extension Views is a specialized diagnostic imaging test used to examine the cervical spine (neck spine) while the neck is gently bent forward (flexion) and backward (extension).
These dynamic lateral views help doctors evaluate spinal stability, abnormal vertebral movement, ligament injury, and alignment issues that may not be visible in routine cervical spine X-rays.
It is commonly recommended after trauma, whiplash injury, chronic neck pain, or suspected cervical spine instability.
