Overview
USG Head / Brain is a specialized ultrasound imaging test used to examine the brain structures inside the skull, most commonly performed in newborns and infants.
Since ultrasound waves cannot pass effectively through adult skull bones, this scan is usually done through the soft spot (fontanelle) in babies.
It helps detect brain abnormalities, bleeding, fluid accumulation, or developmental concerns at an early stage.
The procedure is safe, painless, radiation-free, and widely used in pediatric and neonatal care.
