The Mumps IgG (Immunoglobulin G) test is a blood analysis used to determine if you have long-term immunity to the mumps virus. Unlike the IgM test—which detects a current or very recent infection—the IgG test confirms if your body has developed a lasting defense against the virus, either through prior infection or vaccination (typically the MMR vaccine).
