An Anti-SS-A (Ro) Antibody test is a blood analysis used to diagnose systemic autoimmune diseases, most notably Sjögren’s Syndrome and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).
The “SS-A” stands for Sjögren’s Syndrome A, but the antibodies are also frequently referred to as Anti-Ro (named after the patient, “Robair,” in whom they were first discovered).
